"SONSHINE" by Kaleb D’Aguilar (Jamaica 🇯🇲), follows a grieving mother who refuses to leave her home and becomes consumed by concern for her son’s wellbeing.

An intimate and tense exploration of grief, motherhood, isolation and the instinct to protect what we love.

Kaleb D’Aguilar is an award-winning Jamaican writer and director based between Jamaica and London. A recipient of "Commonwealth Shorts: Caribbean Voices", he holds an MA in Directing from Goldsmiths, University of London.

His film and video work has been presented at the V&A, Migration Museum and National Gallery of Jamaica, as well as international film festivals. His storytelling explores Blackness, Caribbeanness, gender, sexuality, migration, family bonds and intersectional identities.
