Short Films Programme: “Metamorpho-Sis!”

Kicking off this year’s festival, our opening shorts programme bursts with stories of change in all its forms - tender, turbulent, and transformative. From the quiet germination of wheat to the charged rituals of coming of age, mothers, daughters, friends, and lovers face the moments that redefine them - in a bathhouse’s echo, a witch’s shadow, the wilderness of Ontario, or the midway of a county fair. Bodies change, friendships bend, and identities are remade. Whether through poetic reflection, supernatural encounter, or the fierce resolve to forge a new path, each story captures the beauty, fear, and inevitability of becoming someone new.
