What does it mean to watch your home country descend into violence when all you can do is watch from afar? 🖤

In "NATAЛЛЯ (Natallia)" by Anastasia Sytschew (Belarus 🇧🇾), Natallia wakes to a call from her father and learns about the violence of the Lukashenka regime. She longs to be with her family, but since the night of the 2020 Belarusian election, returning home has become impossible.

Personal and deeply affecting, "NATAЛЛЯ" explores distance, helplessness and the emotional reality of witnessing injustice from afar while everyday life simply carries on.

Born in Minsk and raised in Germany, Anastasia Sytschew studied directing at FilmArche e.V. in Berlin. Her work combines personal themes with hybrid forms of storytelling, focusing on migration, mental health, social injustice and the female perspective. 🎥
