Can beauty become a path towards freedom rather than an expectation we have to fulfil? 🤔

"VENERE LIBERATA" by Ludovica Sacchi (Italy 🇮🇹), takes us into an opulent chamber where a woman undergoes a ritualistic transformation into Botticelli’s Venus.

Drawing on Baroque and Renaissance imagery, the film explores the complicated relationship between beauty, identity, expectation and self-worth. Through meticulous ritual and performance, the protagonist’s transformation becomes more than an aesthetic act, it becomes an intimate moment of self-definition and liberation.

Ludovica Sacchi has a multidisciplinary background spanning ballet, drama, music and filmmaking. Sacchi brings these different artistic influences into her cinematic work. "Venere Liberata" marks her first cinematic expression, combining her love of classical art with a deeply personal exploration of identity and self-worth.
