Set in Italy in 1946, "IL GIORNO DELLA BESTIA" ("The Day of the Beast"), by Martina Girlanda, follows a couple undertaking a treacherous climb across a rugged mountain in search of a new life beyond the border. But their journey takes a sinister turn when a mysterious guide and a Beast demanding blood, put their survival to the ultimate test.
Drawn particularly to horror, fantasy and dark fantasy, director Martina Girlanda cites filmmakers such as Guillermo del Toro and Tim Burton among her major artistic influences.
