Green Short Film Programme: “Not Planet B”
*97min/All films are screened in original language with English subtitles/Followed by Q&As with attending filmmakers
There’s no backup plan and definitely no backup planet.
From devil rays gliding through the waters of the Azores and wolves fighting for their last refuge to women confronting oil extraction in the Amazon, farmers reclaiming the land and communities living with the consequences of pollution, “No Planet B” looks at the climate crisis through the people, places and species experiencing it first-hand.
Moving between documentary, fiction, dance and sci-fi, these films take us from oceans, forests and farms to landfills and a climate-ravaged Earth of the future. But this programme isn’t only about what we stand to lose. It’s about resistance, coexistence and finding new ways to care for the world around us and for each other.
Urgent, imaginative and ultimately hopeful, “No Planet B” reminds us that the future of this strange, wild and beautiful planet is still ours to shape.
